The Irish Equity Group is currently attempting, through negotiation with Screen Producers Ireland, to deal with the issue of "New Exploitation Rights".

Many, if not all of the contracts being issued to actors, contain a clause which grants to the production company any and all rights to all New Exploitation Methods with respect to the products of the artists services. This Clause has never been agreed between this Union and any Production company or with Screen Producers Ireland on behalf of any Production company. Pending an agreement with the producers on this issue, Equity calls on all Equity members not to sign any such contracts. |
